Alpaca:

Alpaca growth condition: The South American Camelidae have four species: Alpaca, Vicuna, Llama and Guanaco. They live in the Andes, which is 3000 meters to 5000 meters above sea level. The temperature in the Andes is extremely changeable: from 18 to 20 centigrade degree below zero during the night; it can reach 15 to 18 degree above zero in the morning. The solar radiation intensity, the rarefied atmosphere and the icy cold wind are also some of the difficult conditions that prevail in these high places. To survive in this rough environment, the South American Camelidae are provided with a very special protection.

Throughout the centuries, these species have developed a very fine and light fleece: it does not retain water and can resist the solar radiation effectively. These characteristics guarantee the animals a permanent and appropriate coat to fight against the extreme changes of temperature. The South American, special Alpaca, has become the main pieces in the Andean.

Species:

In the four South American Camelidae, two of them, Vicuna and Guanaco remain in a wild condition and are protected; whereas the Llama and the Alpaca have been slowly domesticated during a very long period that took place throughout 10,000 years. They are the main in the pieces for fiber to clothes. Alpaca have two deferent kinds: the Huacayo and the Suri.

Alpaca Huacayo£º

It is the main kind of alpaca, that is spongy and curly fiber, strong and beautiful .The Huacayo fiber has called "Alpaca Fleece".

Alpaca Suri£º

The Suri has a long, fine and lustrous fiber that almost touches the ground. Suri is the best and scarce in Alpaca, smooth and soft could compare to cashmere, bright like mohair. For colors, 90% white, yellow and brown.

Quality:

Rich grassplots in the Andes makes a good growing condition for Alpaca, that make their hair fine, soft, seed and heat of combustion. The Alpaca fiber contains also microscopic airbags that make possible the manufacture of light textiles as well as difficult kinds of clothing, that has more than 20 natural colors in blacks, whites and browns. The fineness is from 18 MIC to 34 MIC. This fiber is used in many other fields, such as yarn shawls, sweaters, coats, tapestry, scarves, bags, carpets and others. That gives you a sensation of being closer to nature and makes people remember it forever.
